The Bristol Phoenix Choir, founded in 1963, is a friendly choir of about 70 members with a wide range of ages and musical backgrounds.
The choir gives at least three concerts each year in a variety of venues in and around Bristol. Our recent repertoire has included established classics such as Handel's Coronation Anthems, Haydn's Nelson Mass and Te Deum, Bach’s St John Passion and Langlais Messe Solennelle. We perform work of all genres ranging from Charpentier to Arvo Pärt, Morten Lauridsen, Eric Whitacre and contemporary Bristol composer Mark Lawrence.
We are actively recruiting for the start of the new choir year on 6th September 2016 and would be especially keen to welcome tenors, so if you think you would enjoy singing with us, why not come along to St Matthews Church, Kingsdown and give it a go!

We will be continuing to support 'Preludes' during our 2015 ~ 2016 season.
We are proud to support Preludes, the winners of the inaugural St George’s Prize for Music, in their inspirational project in Bristol primary schools. Run by the Bristol Ensemble, the charity is transforming lives by putting classical music at the heart of a child’s education. Children learn to read music, sing and play a range of instruments in an inclusive and supportive setting. This has a huge impact on their confidence and self-belief. The children have performed with musicians from the Bristol Ensemble at the Colston Hall as well as to packed audiences in their schools. The project is creating a vibrancy and pride which nurtures aspirations amongst the children, their families and the community as whole.
