Paul Walton
Paul Walton was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1977 and began playing the organ at the age of twelve. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music from 1995, and from 1999 - 2001 was the Sydney Nicholson Organ Scholar at Manchester Cathedral.
In September 2001, Paul became Assistant Organist at Bristol Cathedral. He accompanies the Cathedral Choir, regularly gives recitals, and directs the Cathedral Chamber Choir and the Cathedral Girls' Choir. He presided over the latter's tenth Anniversary celebrations and two tours - to Belgium in 2004 and to Ireland in 2006.
In May 2007, Paul performed the Finale from the Saint-Saëns ~ Organ Symphony in a Gala Concert at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, with the winners of the European Brass Band Championships. Last summer, Paul was the organist for the St. Endellion Festival, directed by Richard Hickox. |
